FocusWall ยท One-Task New Tab
People with ADHD do better when their environment does some of the remembering for them. Instead of relying on willpower to stay on task, placing a visual reminder directly in your line of sight keeps the goal present. FocusWall turns every new tab into a single-task screen with no links, no search bar, nothing else to click. The idea is borrowed from occupational therapy: when you remove escape routes, staying focused becomes the default instead of the effortful choice.

FocusWall is a minimalist browser new-tab override that replaces every new tab with a full-screen display of your single most important task. It turns the distraction of opening new tabs into a focus trigger.
Who is it for:FocusWall is for anyone with ADHD who gets distracted by browser tabs, students who open new tabs during study sessions, and professionals who need to maintain single-task focus.
Why it works for ADHD:Executive dysfunction makes it hard to resist the pull of new tab distractions. FocusWall does the opposite, it uses the new tab as a focus trigger, showing your task in large, impossible-to-ignore text every time you open a new tab.
"Every new browser tab is a distraction opportunity. FocusWall turns that weakness into a strength by making your one current task the first thing you see in every new tab, no homepage feed, no search suggestions, just your task and a streak counter."ZeroLoginFocus research
FocusWall is a minimalist browser new-tab override that keeps your most important task visible and prevents tab-related distractions. Every time you open a new tab, your brain is exposed to feeds, search bars, and recommendations that pull you off track. FocusWall replaces the default new tab page with a full-screen display of your single most important task. Keyboard-driven Done and Skip actions let you manage your focus list without leaving the flow.
Type tasks into your focus list and set priorities from Top Task to Queue or Someday.
Enter the distraction-free fullscreen mode.
Install the companion extension to redirect every new browser tab to this page.
Use Space or Enter to mark done, N to add new tasks, and keep your focus list moving.

"Executive function is not a character flaw, it is a neurological pattern. External tools that provide the scaffolding your brain lacks are clinically validated support strategies."

Every new browser tab is a distraction opportunity. FocusWall turns that into a strength by replacing your new tab page with a single-task focus screen showing your most important task in big, impossible-to-ignore text. Done and Skip actions are keyboard-driven (Space/Enter for done, N for new task), so you stay in flow.
Executive dysfunction responds well to environmental scaffolding, meaning you change your surroundings to make the right action the easiest action. FocusWall does this by making your one current task the first thing you see in every new tab. No homepage feed, no search suggestions, no weather widget. Just your task and a streak counter.
